I have a small 10 gallon tank with 10 male guppies. This morning I noticed that one of the guppy's tail was missing. Last night all my guppies were fine and healthy, and going about their regular business of chasing each other.
I suspect that the tail was burnt on the heater as it dissappeared over night with no symptoms (or mone that I noticed). What does it look like and what can I do to keep my other fish safe?

Hmmm... I'm not sure. I've had a guppy with a burnt tail and it didn't disolve like that... turned black/dark and curled. I've also had a guppy with severe tail rot and it didn't look like that either. I am at a loss as it also doesn't exactly look like a nibbled tail.

Hopefully someone else has seen something like this.

Oh my I'm very sorry about the state of your poor fish :( Yeah definitely not tail rot, it honestly looks like the pigment fell off! Which I have never experienced before. Hopefully someone will know what is going on soon. How is he acting by the way? Healthy interest in food?
