Male Guppies Going After Larger Females

I was wondering if it was normal for male guppies to go after the larger female guppies? I have 4 males and they all seem to chase after the larger females. Strangely, they just ignore the smaller females and focus on the bigger ones.

The bigger, the more mature - often. Your smaller females may not be ready yet and your males will probably be smaller then the female guppy anyways. My largest female is 2 1/2 inches! She's everyones favorite (100 fry is not impossible) some other females that are the size of the boys are still barren - probably not mature yet.

I very much agree. I have a female over 2 inches and she's all 3 of my males favorites. I even have another female in there as old as she is but not nearly as big nor has she had as much fry(wonder why? ). Only problem is the biggest or "favorite" female gets stressed the most b/c when one male isnt on her, another one is. I believe it deals with maturity and develeopment of the female as said above. Also my biggest female has had the most amount of fry so I'm sure those boys know she's quite ripe

Yup males wat big gurls so theyll go for the big ones. Also good if the big ones get pregnet ur lucky more fry.

Good thing I have 3 larger females. . .but 4 pesty males.
All the female guppies are pregnant too, so I'll be expecting a lot of fry!

I think it's perfectly normal...(you know, maybe 55 gallon dude should be a guppy...he'll love his life....JUST KIDDING....!!)
My male guppies get completely crazy over pregnant ones...big and fat! LOL
