Hello, i have noticed that today one of my male endlers looks lethargic and has a red stomach area, after i have fed them around 4 hours ago?

I checked my water parameters and everythings normal...

I hope i dont lose this endler, as he has a lovely extended tail.

How many gallons is the tank?
How many fish and which type?
What brand of test kit are you using?
Can you post your water stats please.

The red tummy area.
Does it look like red streaking, red patches, bleeding beneath the skin, red sore with dead white skin around the edges.
Does the tummy region look bloated, any swelling, sunken in, raised scales.

Id say more of red sore and abit bloated.
The endler mentioned was found dead yesterday,
One more has died since, with no signs. some other endlers are looking lethargic. also one of my platies has a sunken stomach and an endler too.

I have now

16 male endlers
10 male platys
2 corydoras 1 2" and 1 tiny
4 male guppies
3 tetras (neon varieties)
In a juwel rekord 110l

ammonia 0ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate 20-30ppm
ph read 7.4 on high ph and looks like 7.6 on normal one

water change: 10% a week

What does it look like when your fish go to the toilet. Is there waste long white and stringy, clear.
Any worms sticking out of the anus.
Is the anus enlarged, swollen, or red and inflamed.
Do any of the fish swim on there sides.
Has any of your fish ever had a curved, or bent spine.
Have any of your fish looked really thin, skinny.

I would worm your fish for camallanus worms.

For now I would add a internal bacterial med to the tank.

Does the red sore have a circling of white dead tissue around the edges.

i cant see the red sore, as the fish is dead that had that mark.

The majority of the fish that look ill are lethargic, clinging to the surface or hiding in spots of the tank.
The stomach sinks so it looks like an upside down U and the platy has lost alot of weight.

Water change.
Add an internal bacteria med to the tank.

Just a few more questions.
Do the gills look pale, or red and inflammed.
Do the fish look pale with excess slime.
Do any fish swim in a jerky movement.

yes jerky movement but nothing else. im so confused as to why this has happened as these fish are not new, i have had them over 1 month. What anti bacterial med would you recommend?
I waterchanged 10% last night.

Keep a look out for when your fish go to the toilet.
Bent spine, curved spine.

There a med called furanol 2 by JBL. But it wipes the good bacteria out in the filter.
There also anti internal bacteria med by interpet. But don't rate it much. The med does not knock your good bacteria in filter.
I don't rate esha 2000 either. the med does not knock your good bacteria in filter. It dosn't knock your good bacteria in filter.

Read this link and keep a look out for the symptoms.

Just one more question.
Do any of your fish flick and rub.
Dart, erratic swimming.

yes they flick occasionally, cant see anything on their body.

What would you do? use the med that wipes the good bacteria? as then wouldnt i need to re cycle, risking all of the fish as the ammonia spikes etc

or try the others first?

If the fish start to flick and rub more than occasionally, get back to the board,.

Do you have any other tanks that you could take a mature filter sponge from, to kick start your tank again.

this is my only tank. (only allowed one) the board as in.. re post on tff? I have had whitespot, or so i thought whitespot, still not completely resolved problems, i would notice the fish would flick on the items in the tank every 4-6 weeks, but tried lots of meds with no help.

Now since i changed tanks, but kept the filter media and put old media in new filter, in the new tank, i have experienced these problems with the fish going hollow bellied.

Looking at the tank now, i can spot 3 platies that arent behaving like the rest and look ill, my guppies are flicking in the sand. one platy looks as though its almost vertical hanging around the filter.

Do the fish have any tiny white spots on there bodies, or fins. Or look like they have been sprinkled in salt.

no they dont, i have stared at them all for a long time.
I don't know what disease this is.

i really appreciate all your help wilder, you have always replied in the past too

I would worm your fish with sera nematol.

Are the fish still flicking and rubbing?
Have you seen what colour there waste is when they go to the toilet?

I have already got this medication, as i have had these problems before. there isnt any white spots or anything still, however now i have around 13 endlers instead of 20. I have just fed them and cannot see what their waste looks like, other than whats on the sand looks normal, but that could be from the platies.
Tere is a endler with only 5% of it tail and the website you mentioned lists this as a symptom, also they are too getting skinnier and a concave stomach, with gills sticking outwards.

The sera nematol i have has 05.2011 on it, however i cant remember if i used it or not, as it looks as though it could be as full as new. could i use this still?
