Male Dwarf Hanging Out..........female Redness

AT THE SURFACE
 
Although my male does swim about a bit he does seem to spend most of his time at the surface...but not gasping for air. He has been known to play with my thermometer too (flicking it against the tank)
 
should i be worried about this???
 
 
Also...
 
One of my females has redness to her gill area...whats this???

i did a BIG WC yesterday.
 
today hes staying on the bottom and keeling over to one side a bit. The females are swimming around fine. the redness has gone down slightly.

Its possible it could be swim bladder for the male. The female sounds fine. What always helps is a nice helping of peas and lots of WC's.
