Male Dalmation Molly

my male dal molly is acting totally out of character. he's just laying at the bottom of the tank and he's usually very active. 2 weeks ago i lost his mate and he acted kind of funny until i replaced her and then he seemed fine. this is just not like him. anybody have any ideas what's wrong?

First thing i would do is a 40-50% water change to see if that percs him up a bit. Also if you have gravel, give it a clean.
