Okay so I added the 2 clown loaches to my 120 gallon from the 55 gallon my mom got at a garage sale and they seem to love it in there. Being curious as they are, they will come up to the blue ram and kind of just sniff him and check him out and my ram doesn't like that at all! He will charge at them and peck at them too. But the thing is, he isn't like that at all during feeding time. He acts rather passive and lets everyone else eat and then he will scavenge for food at the bottom where he mainly just sucks up sand. :( I am worried he may not be getting enough food, but I don't want to overfeed you know?

He is chasing around the new platies I addes and even the von rio tetra. He is starting to be a little terror! He was fine when the female was in the tank...but she died of an unknown cause. :-( Now he is back to his aggressive ways again. I am afraid I will buy another female ram and it will die. Should I donate him to a LFS where he can be with plenty of his own kind and have a better home? Or should I just try another female? :dunno:

Fish will find ways to amuse themselves. When he had a female to hang out with that's probably how he stayed amused. Now that she is gone he may be picking on other fish for amusement. Your tank doesn't sound over crowded so I would suggest creating lotsa lotsa caves and crevices for him to play in.

Technical write off... I've never kept Rams... but I've read recently in this forum that Rams often prefer not to eat off the surface. People have mentioned using both sinking pellets as well as putting flakes directly into the filters output to sink them.

People here love Rams... I'm sure you'll have several much more experienced responses in no time ;)
