Wouldn't risk it, danios can be nippy.

ive only ever seen my danios nipping eachother and that was when i first got them, they hardly nip anymore.

The long tail of the betta would attract them

True - I've never seen (any of my) Danios nip any other fish (I've kept Zebra, Leopard and Hikari). They usually chase each other around but never other fish. And if really look closely I've never seen them actually "nip" each other. It's just a high speed chase.

I would say it's absolutely fine if you have the space and not too strong a current.
I have 3 females (1 halfmoon, 1 crowntail and one large finned double tail) in a community tanks with Danio hikari, swordies, mollies, platies, red rainbow, loaches, a range of plecs including a pictus catfish and some tetras (rummy nose and bleeding heart). Never a nipped fin to be seen. But then again watch out for individual fish that might be bossy or territorial.

My Danios don't even as much as "look" at my bettas. I had one bossy male swordie, but he was nasty to all the fish in the tank so I rehomed him. Problem solved and they all live in peace and harmony

It is very risky. I would recommend against it.

I think it might be okay you have enough danios to let them fight amongst themselves. I thought that danios were only really nippy when they are on their own and become grumpy and terratorial.

My danios never goes near my guppies neither do my tetras and I have eight of them.

I have kept a male betta with zebra danio's on several occasions and have never had any problems. On each occasion, they completely ignored each other.

 so thats unanimous then. Yes or No, looks like its up to you.
Let us know how it goes if you go with the yes's.

I would stick with the no.
I had some danios and added a betta, and they nipped at his fins.
Also, swordtails have a rep as being a bit feisty....so would say no!

Is this the 20g tank? What happened to the angel and the plec? And do you still have a nitrate problem?

I have my female community in with 5 golden zebra danios. They intermingle just fine and have had no nipping. The only occassionaly problem I get is one of the girls can occassionally get bossy. Not that she has ever so much as nipped a tail through it.
Not sure about swordies. Go with intuition. More often then not, it turns out right.
Hugs,
P.
