Malawi tank

I am thinking of setting up a 24x12x12 inch tank with malawi cichlid but was wondering a few things before i do so:
1. how many malawi's should i keep in it?
2. what sort of living arrangements should i provide?
3. if planted what sort of light should i use?

Youd probably get more response if you posted in the cichlid part of the forum this for pics )
Off the top of my head though that tank might be too small for these kind of fish.

tank is too small.you really need a 36" long tank.
