I have had 3 fish die in the last month they are 1"membe deeps, at first they were in my fry tank where 2 died they just seemed to just hang at the bottom and then roll over and die with no symptoms but they were fine the day before,i checked water stats no problem there then another one died so i moved them to my main tank as i could find no cause i thought that it maybe a stress thing being in a small tank as they were getting quite aggressive for 2 weeks they where fine then last night one of them started to hang at the bottom corner of the tank and this morning its gone eaten by now knowing my fish

There are no water issues nothing new added no symptoms they were eating fine no other fish are affected, anyone got any ideas ?

Sounds bacterial at the moment.

Any idea what type, this is the first health problem i have had with my mbuna apart from a bit of white spot.

What sort of meds are available for bacterial infections, Im sure i read somewhere that they can kill of bacteria in the filter ?

I have these fish for about 2 months but they came from a very reputable supplier

Thanks

Don't know your location, but you could just do some daily water changes.
Usually when there no symtoms to go and there dying usually treat for a bacterial infection.
Did they darken in colour, and whitespot can cause bacterial infections.

Yes i suppose they did darken but they can change colour when there alive with the dominant one being darker yellow.

Im in birmingham uk

Is it to late to put them in a quaratine tank or would it be in the water.

Thanks

Uk bacterial med won't wipe the bacteria colony out in the filter.
The meds that do wipe the bacteria out in the filter are most antibiotics which are only available through a vet in the uk.
I would get a med called myxazin by waterlife.

To be honest I would just treat the whole tank.
Good luck.

Thanks a lot for that, I will get some tomorrow and hopefully it will save the others as these are f1 and quite rare.

Good luck.

Another one is about to die i think its swimming ok but when it stops its looks as if it has a twitch then starts to roll over and start to swim again i have also noticed that it seems to be a bit patchy but that could be due to stress.

I have rechecked water stats and still fine (I have a lot of wild caught caught fish which need very good condition which are fine even breeding)

Help !

Sounds like you might have a parasite, where is the patch and does it look milky or a greyish slimey film.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing or darting around.
