Is that 12 long x 6 high x 10 deep then yes you can heat it by either using a reptile mat under the tank or getting a small 25 or 50 watt heater, they aren't long so should fit in.

Why not make a tank 12 x 10 x 10 so there is a reasonable height and depth to it, if it is 6 deep that is a little cramped and the betta wouldn't really be able to exercise himself. :good:

A filter isn't essential but daily water changes would be required at least 10 to 20% a day I would have thought.

Just looking at the heater mats. They look good for setting up a small tank. Would they be ok on pine wood or would you need to put something underneath them?

i am making a tank 12x10x10 i just got the glass today and that is fine for putting a smallish heater in it. i dont get how those heater mats work i thought they just heat up to like 30-40f not sure.
Good Luck

You can get small 10 watt heaters and even a 7.5 watt heater.

In my lfs they have some little 3-4inch heaters in there tanks but they said they don't do them any more.Im gutted because they looked perfect for even bowls. Not sure how many watts though.
