Im thinking off adding some hidyholes to my 90L tank,i have 3 smallish plastic plantpots sat around and im wondering if these will be ok in the tank, theyre plastic, terracotta in colour (not painted, formed in that colour plastic) Not sure what type of plastic..Thinking of cutting them in half and sticking them in the gravel (would any of my fish shelter in there? i think my platys may appreciate it seeing how shy they are)

Plastic pots are usually fine but make sure they are clean and free of chemicals. Plastic pots don't normally sink so ceramic/ clay flower pots are often a better choice.

If you have a female platy that is hiding all the time then she is stressed out, probably form being chased and pestered by the male. If this is the case then you should add some plants to the tank. You can use plastic or real plants depending on how much light you have above the tank. Floating plants like Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides) are great for female livebearers and for any babies they have.
