Getting old, but nowhere near knackered, i just lo
just spend 4 hours around a friends place doing a makeover on his tank
he kept saying that his fish werent breeding and i thought id go and take a look at his fish to see if there was an obvious problem...and my lord i had never seen anything like it.
take a look at this pic, i did have one of the whole tank but i cant show it guys as i cant bare to see it again, but look at the two top rocks above the fish, they were cream after i cleaned them and the coral to the left of the fish, thats if you can make it out,ended up looking like the second pic, as payment for my hard work i stole if for my tank
imagine all that crap you can see it covered evrything except the fish.
his nitrates went off the scale and he had no way of knowing the temp, when i put my hand in to get out the heater it was so warm and the heater no joking was set on 32...........i must say that he has been in and out of hospital and maintenance on his tank could not be done, just wish he had asked me to look after the tank whilst he needed the help
and this is what the coral looks like now
and the final thing, his poor fish now have room to swim, nitrates down to 75 and getting lower, temp set at 24, he started to cry when i had finished, he was so happy and i was happy to help, after all thats what friends are for.
also gave him some easy to root cuttings from my tank so he had some live plants to help adjust the situation
