Major Tank Death :(

Something's happened in my tank during the night. Just got back from being out since last night and the tank is really really cloudy - all my fish are dead, all my inverts are dead, and all my pods and stuff are dead?? Fed them as usual last night with their usual reef paste - only a small bit. I'm guessing bacteria?? Anyone help a very very sad me..

If it's cloudy it's likely a bacterial bloom has sucked all the oxygen from the water, as to why it could of happened I don't know fella, sorry.

Just a thought I may be that after you used that putty your O2 levels went down and as it cleared from your system your O2 rocketed giving the bacteria a chance to get a foot hold.

Mate don't let it finish you off though, when I lost all my corals in the tank wipe I thought about stopping but I am glad I didn't now. Chin up.

Oh no, thats awful Is there any chance someone could have sprayed something near the tank or your heater has got stuck on?

I literally felt sick when I realised my two old boy Nems had gone, you must be feeling awful, how is the coral?

I really don't know what's happened. Shell shocked and I've just got in after no sleep within 24 hours. Even the bristle worms are dead. The only thing alive it the coral.. Which is good I guess. dont what to do or where to start...

Anyone?

Is my rock dead now? I can't imagine anything living on it. There's 100's of dead bristle worms, 1000's and 1000's of cope pods dead, feather dusters dead, shrimp, star, Everything!! Do you think it's completely dead rock now?

gutted mate!! i had a crash once too! stick with it though! now is your chance to alter any niggles with the tank and get back on track

No the bacteria will be ok and the rest will repopulate, this is sounding less like bacteria more like pathogen.
As seffie said, any sprays, gas leaks, chems near the tank? To wipe out a whole tank over night including hitchhikers isn't something that's easy to do.
