When I got in from work last Tuesday, my 2 month old juwel vision 260 had been leaking water into the flat below. It had lost about 5 inches of water. No signs of problems before hand, except that the rubber seal for the separate parts of the powerhead was wonky and kept separating. Minimal damage in my flat, except to the juwel stand and a futon. But....
My lfs, which is really good and I am on excellent terms with them, have taken the tank away to test it, as Juwel are particulary adamant that there is never anything wrong with their tanks. And dont you bl***y know it! They phoned today to say there was no sign of a leak. They are puzzled and wondered if the filter had maybe sprayed over the back, but I am at a complete loss. I have 3 juwel tanks in total, so its not a case of not knowing how to set them up properly. I am really worried I am going to end up getting the sodding thing back and then have it happen all over again. My insurance will not pay out twice.
Anyone have any experiences with Juwels leaking or possible causes other than the seals failing? I am looking at being severely out of pocket here.
Would really like some info before I go in to the lfs to speak to them!! They are not really the problem, but I suspect Juwel will be.
Please, please any advice would be welcome.
