I havn't got my tank yet (in 3-4 days), however i have been doing alot of rading on how to look after and keep an aquarium. im just wondering what are the main requirements to clean a tank and if you wanted to repostion a tank how would it be achieved... -_-

Samir is a Hindi name, right? (wondering if I am right, since I have a desi friend named Samir. ;))

As for reading, it's great you're doing it before getting the tank. Best thing you could have done, IMO, was find this forum, so you have all the info you need right here (though independent research never hurt :p).

Moving tank after it is set up is not suggested, at least with water in the tank. best to remove water and fish, also gravel if it is a big tank. Also, make sure you have a foam-type addition under the tank to better distribute the weight.

What size tank? This will affect what size garvel vac you need (I'm sure you have come across this in your reading). The smallest size at Walmart works for up to 10 gallons. Also, you might have to invest in an algae scrubber (these are made specially, for glass and acrylic tanks, depending on what you get).

Also, have you read up on cycling? You might want to do so if you have not, in order to make sure you don't start off with bad experiences. :p

haha nice :D nice to see sum1 who has interest in ma name, however i think its not hindi as most samirs are mostly muslim, and the hindi people will mostly have their names spelt as 'shamir' or 'sameer'. i myself is from mauritius which is near madagascar and im a muslim.

And thanks for the addtional info which i do really appreciate thanks :). All i am hoping for is everything to go fine. Yup now i know how to move the tank and yeah i am concidering to put a foam beneath the tank for good support and i have done a bit of reading on cycling B) haha
