Howdy, I'm not sure where this belongs exactly but for now it's here.

I've scanned the pinned topics and FAQ's as well as several searches, but I'm still having trouble finding what I want to know. What is the best way to stop algae from thriving in a non-planted tank?

It's incredible the rate at which it grows, I've never seen anything like it.

Don't keep ya lights on all the time and ya can buy a lil pad that goes into ya filter that removes Algae safely.

Also theres a chemical ya can use but I prefer the pads
There about £2.00 for 4 and they last 1-2 month each and can be recharged apprently but for that price I never tried to

Nope
Next time ya in Pets@Home check em out.

Forgot name... Somthing like Algae Away
I know I did regular water tests with mine and didnt see a diffrence
