Has anyone ever gotten fish through the mail?

I have, but only once. They came through fine! Now I have purchased some more, but the weather is too cold to ship them and I am having to wait for a few days. I would rather not take a chance and risk them getting chilled.

There are others on this forum who have bought that way often.

Yeah, my dad and I ordered fish twice, the first time with liveaquaria (Very good, fish came healthy), and the second time with aquarium stuffers (2 dead fish in bag, water reaked of death, all but one of 16 fish lived)

How much does shipping cost on fish?

I haven't bought any yet but have been looking into it. Shipping is the expensive part. I want some Red Cherry Shrimp and can't find any locally. I did find some at azgardens.com for $4.59 each. They are in Arizona and I'm in NC. I think the shipping for 2nd day is about $15 - $25. Overnight is about $35 or $65. You almost have to order 10 or more to make it worth while, depending on where you are in relation to the shipper. A lot of them guarantee them to arrive alive or they will replace them but you still have to pay freight on the replacements too.

ha, that next day is nothing. They charge Connecticut like it is a foregin country. International prices to canada and Mexico are better sometimes depending where you are.

Someone ordered fish from Arizona, They lived in Ny. Shipping was $30. So the town that the guy lived was like 1 hour away. So I went to the site to getting a shipping quote. It was almost $70. That is rediculous! And one in NY was $175.

as long as you dont live in new england shipping should be okay. Ive always said N.E should becaome its own country, the postal place treat it as if it is anyways.

Ive ordrered from aquariumfish.net and was very impressed. the shipping is a standard amount- I think it was 25 dollars(us) no matter how many fish you order.
All fish survived, were very healthy and exactly what I ordered.

i ordered betta online. the shipping company screwed up and instead of getting next-day shipping, i got next week shipping. they all survived though but 1 of them took a week to recuperate
