I would just like to mention Maidenhead Aquatics in Blackpool, FANTASTIC shop.
Went in tonight to look at the Hillstream Loaches. The staff member who spoke with me ran me through all the different ones available such as sizes they grow to, what temperature they like as some was different and so on. Then he spoke about what they like to eat other than algae such as the algae wafers, zucchini and said they will eat anything even other fish poop !
Then he asked what size tanks i had so i told him they will be going into my 60l until my 240l is cycled which should not be to long. So we talked about the fishless cycle and said he is a SIX WEEK MAN, meaning no matter what no fish go near his tanks for 6 weeks even if the tank tests are saying cycle complete.
Then he asked about my stocking plans so i told him and he talked me through things that may be a good idea to do such as maybe try this type of barb with those fish as they are calmer and make sure to add all other fish before adding the tiger barbs if you do go for that species as they will settle in a little better.
Thats just some of the great advice he was happy to give.
He said when i come back in ask for him and he will help me get the stocking list together !!
All in all a great experience and i will definately be going back.
Needless to say i came away with 2 Sewellia lineolata

but I hope your tank has high current, plenty of oxygen and low temperature.
