i called up a shop in australia which specialises in bettas, got quoted prices in the hundreds for pretty much any wild type! *shakes fist*

hehe, i kinda like the subtler fish, so they suit me!

i think my zebra danios are just gorgeous so one of these would be rather exotic!

Well, the good thing about them being so expensive is that whoever buys them is going to be a serious breeder who is concerned with the species and dedicated to starting captive lines so they aren't being depleted so severely in the wild. I'm glad that any old joe can't just walk off the street, think "those look cool!" and buy one. I think we know from our lovely domesticated splendens what that leads to.

they are on the red list which means they are endangered meaning why they are sooo expensive try wholesalers they should be much cheaper
