So i didn't take photos of the actual process of construction because i didn't know if this would fail miserably.

Anyway, I can explain as I show you photos:

So the "plastic" is called Lexan, it's stronger than glass and Plexiglass, and doesn't splinter as easily as the other two when cutting. In fact it's a total pain in the butt to cut.

The front piece is approx 9WX12H and the 3 joining sides along with the bottom pieces are 8X10. It holds about 532 OZ oz of water or 2.75 gallons (when filled an inch from the top of the side walls, not the front wall.

The sealant is some sort of rubber lexan sealant (and is sold right next to the lexan in home depot). You can get an 8X10 piece of lexan for $3-4.

And if you are horrible at putting things together, you'll use duct tape to hold corners together until the sealant is no longer tacky (15 minutes) then remove)

Pardon the big black divider down the middle of the tank, it's going to keep the male and female betta separated.

This tank has been fitted with a filter (left side) and a heater (right side)

Here's the Mac gutted with the air bubbler mechanism in back (duct tapped. Hurray for duct tape!) The 2nd photo is of the feeder hole I made (with hinged door to keep pesty cats out) and a cut hole for the light.

Aquarium with water inside, background fitted and wires fed through back holes of the aquarium. Notice the super cool ship in the background.

Fishies sitting in the tank, adjusting to temps.

Zee MacAquarium.

The only disappointment i have with it, is the water can't go all the way to the screen top. This has a lot to do with the curvature of the Mac itself and the height of the front. I could probably trim down the front piece and put the aquarium on a stand so it shows above the screen, but that does seem plausible with the shape of the aquarium (look at the gutted photos to see what i mean)

Your imagination is something else!! :good:

A real fish screensaver. LOL.

Oh, well to be honest the Mac Aquarium isn't my idea, there are quite a few on the internet if you google the term (or MacAquarium). But the pirate theme is so me, and we have a lot of pirate gear in the bedroom.

But i did not follow anyone's instructions, just saw what others did and executed my way:)
