Yes, the two swordtails will breed.
Different tail shapes don't matter, apart from male long finnned lyretails that (usually) can't breed as their gonopodium is too long and bendy

Nice. That's why I considered a regular male for a partner.
I know they have long fins, what are the chances of them getting nipped off? Because I had once angels with my swordies, unfortunately the fins got nipped a lot

It's correct male lyre tails cant breed, but to carry on you need a male thats carry's the gene but dose not express it. Other wise you only get short finned fish from the fry.
Your get this is the fry you get in the feature from the female. so breed bother to sister and your get more lyretails back again

Okay I won't. Too bad the new LFS here only has few lyretails so I ended up buying a female peppered swordtail.
How many can I add in my tank? It's 15gal.
