i was just wondering how many people kept this fish and what size their tanks are.

I just recently bought a female, and when i introduced her to the tank my cherub angel went all territorial on her but overnight their hatred towards each other went away (and no damage done too woohoo!!)

anyway here's a couple of pics (because I know you all love pics)

the two being friends lol

I have a 180g with a 2.5in male and 1in female lyretail and plan to add at least 4 more females. Just be aware that your female being the only lyretail in the tank will turn into a male within a few months without a male around.

ooh thanks for the tip! what if i added some more females? would 1 female become the male while the rest stayed female?

Nice Fish!! I love anthias they are beautifull fish esp in a grp. Yes if you add all females to a tank the most dominate usually the largest female will turn into a male the rest will stay female. Your female depending on how long she has been alone probably has already begun the process and once begun is irreversable. A male anthias will not tolerate another male and they will usually fight unless they are in a very large system until the other is dead. If you added more females they would all just have to work it out as to who is going to be the male.

Cherubs live around here in Florida. I might try to catch one but it will be tricky, although I do catch a whole lot of cocoa damsels and wrasse.
