As title should I worry? I got a redhead fairy wrasse HES FABOLOUS! But this white lump on his lip looks odd?

I only seen him tonight first time since I put him sunday!! He seems un bothered by it tho?

any suggestions people?

he was at lfs for a long time tho?

never really noticed it when I watched him in shop but he was in a high tank so was difficult to see close up?

he did look fine in the shop!! may be a mouth fungus me clowns got it, i used melafix and after 3 days it had cleared up.

as in how do you give melafix? if so you just dose the tank with it, ensure skimmers, carbon is off/removed, and treat for 7 days. the dose will depend on the tank size i think its 5ml per 40litres.

yep it is extract of tea tree. as far as i no its reef safe since its a completly natural remedy, didnt adversly effect any thing in mine.

Reef safe, and not a bad idea for this situation. Make sure you turn your skimmer off and remove carbon during treatment though.

Hmm interesting? I gonna need to add a lot for my tank with sump Would you turn sump off too?

Might make it easier?

Shibby you got any at your place ? or even some left I can pinch a bit off

nah should leave sump running, skimmer and activated carbon just stop the treatment working.

we have alot i think yes, get a big bottle its useful stuff :D my little little bottle treated 890 litres of water so a big bottle will be up in the thousands of litres!

Unfortunatly I was dissapointed to find it died last night!!

I have found out what it was too!

It had been stung or it bit a Bristle worm!! which gave it an infection. All the other fish are fine. Im very gutted as I only seen him 3 times in the 6 days I had him!!

params were pretty spot on.

sg 1.024
temp 27
amm .1 (which I think is down to the stressed wrasse)
no3 0ppm
no2 0ppm
ca 1400
mg 400
ph .01

Im gutted man. my first loss?

I have still bought melafix today and will be dosing tank later!

I find it highly unlikely that a bristleworm caused the wrasses' death... more likely a shipping problem or innate infection.

Also, this is only your first loss? Keep it up, man. If I had only 1 loss on my head I'd practically be jumping for joy...
