guys can you help

my fighter has developed a pretty big lump on 1 side. Near the back of his side. Any ideas of what this is and how can i treat it.

if you can get a picture it would help very much.
we also need to know the following info
tank size?
any other tank mates? if so what and how many?
any sharp ornaments/plants?
whenn did you notice it?
tank stats? ammonia? nitrite? nitrate? pH?
can you describe it more, does it look hard/soft etc?

sorry for all the ?'s

i have a record juwel 60
tank mate
3 noen tetra
4 cherry barbs
2 platys and 2 young platys
3 runny meads (grey body orange head striped tail fins)
i have 2 air line no live plants and 2 non sharp object to swim through

I have no idea of ph levels and stuff i have never checked them. My fish have never been sick and only died through old age. I have even had fish breed with out me trying so i think my tank is in good condition. I will try and get a pic the lump looks soft its on his back 1/4 of his body

thanks

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
Best to invest in a liquid master kit of your own.
The lump so it look soft like filled with fluid.
What colour is the lump, any red edging to it.
Best to issolate a fish with a soft looking lump as if they burst they can infect other fish.
