Luke's New Juwel Lido 120

The plants have filled out a lot now, I will try and remember to get some pictures up.

Sadly most of the foreground plants have algae on them.

I can't really add more plants right now since I'm strapped for cash.

CO2 is a possibility when my birthday comes around in June.

Couldn't you make up a DIY to help?

I don't know about that I heard that lots of people have problems with them

- Mixture going up the tube.
- Replacing it
- Algae

I'd have to get a CO2 test in some form or another too.

- Mixture going up the tube. Too much yeast
- Replacing it. not that much hassle, 10mins?
- Algae. Low co2

All explanations are simple, if you have low co2 then add another bottle until it is up to scratch. You could measure your Kh then refer to This table

I suppose so, keeping it warm could also be an issue.

Do you know a good guide to making your own sets? I'd quite like to be able to do this on a budget.

Then again the Hagen system does not cost too much.

I didn't know you had to keep it warm, i just thought you filled it with warm water to activate the yeast.

There is a guide on here or an even simpler one at aquatic eden.

Thanks a lot, I may be purchasing 2 nutrafin canisters and rhinox 1000s off nry though, if he replies!

Yeah saw that on UKaps, PM him

Yeah I did, maybe he's busy.

I hope they're still available... and my parents let me borrow more money.

I have now decided I do not like my aquascape. I want it to look good, I thought plonking stuff in and hoping it would grow nice would work.

I was very wrong.

I do like Iwagumi and Red Moor Wood set ups but I'm not sure if they'd suit. I have a few big fish which would look a bit strange in Iwagumi.

I need desperate help!!

Ahhh!!!

Isn't doing too good..

Not too bad, a bit of hairgrass or blyxa wold look nice at front, move crypts back and left slightly or if they dont grow very high put the grasses behind them.

I have cleared it up a bit.

Algae is gone, Myacca is gone to another tank where angelfish won't eat it.
Hygro, Vallis and Elodea are pruned and moved back.
Coconut is removed since I need the space.
Crpyts and stuff are going to be moved back a bit and I have a feeling the dwarf swords are starting to carpet.

Sounds promising :good:

Only problem is now the tank looks only about twice as planted is it was originally.

Have done a rescape, I just need more plants and stuff now.

I have KNO3, K2PO4, Trace and Easycarbo which I will start adding tomorrow.

Post some pics of the new scape where you're able ;)
