I would like to plant my 5 gallon tank, but would like to keep it simple. It's got a 9 watt light so i'm just under 2wpg. I also read, the smaller the tank, the wpg are more important.

Here are my questions:

1) Do I need to add root tabs?

2) Do I need to use any ferts?

3) What are some specific plants (besides java fern and moss) that will grow well with my lighting?

4) I won't be adding co2 but what about those carbon tablets, are they any help?

Thanks :good:

1) They would help plants with roots.
2) Probably not. 9w in 5g is low light. Fish poo and tap water should be enough.
3) Hygrophila polysperma should do ok. Anubias nana thrives in lower light.
4) I've no experience with carbon tablets. DIY CO2 is cheaper and probably more effective.
