Looks promising :) need more plants if you are going to increase the lighting by 65w and be sure to get the CO2 nice and high round 30ppm is ideal. Will you be doing EI?

Sam

Yeah looking into removing all the fake plants and putting in all real plants. Going to check out some nice LFS's this weekend to see if there are some nice plants around here and I would not have to ship them in.

I am not sure what EI means though. I have looked on the forums and could not find it.

Also the amazon sword it all the way to the top of the tank, but does not seem to be getting to much taller, would it be best to remove some of the larger stems to promote more growth? There is a runner going up now, but i was hoping it could be somewhat more bushier with more stalks.

Thanks.

New pictures.

Got 65W in there now and I got allege within 4 hours since i added it. So around 3WPG now, and I can really see the need for CO2. Working on making the CO2 system this weekend and I will start doing smaller lighting periods and see how that goes.

Looks good have you tried some java moss on some rocks it looks really good!

No moss. You mean the fern? Not a real rock either :(. Hoping to get some nice woodpieces at some point to put the java fern into.

Ya the java moss (different than the fern) it will make a carpet like effect.

Whoops, getting late, mis-read your statement. I was going to try something else than java moss, maybe dwarf riccia if i can find it. I have a slate piece in there for a small cave in the back i could attach it to.

That would look great to im thinking of getting some. if im correct it will pearl and look nice under moonlighting.

The tank will look nice once it's filled out a bit more, all tanks take time to mature.
What's the tall plant in the middle? Is it some kind of anubias?

Also, the java ferns you've got, it looks like you might have buried the rhizome. These need to be above the gravel else they will rot.
Good luck with the algae, now that you've added more lighting and will need CO2, then ferts, the tank won't be so low-tech anymore :p

I read one of your other posts voo and took the ferns out of the substrate. They are just sitting on top of the gravel right now, as the root section is holding them down. The tall plant in the middle is what I thought was a Amazon Sword, but i could be mistaken. The LFS I got it from does not exactly name these correctly.

And yeah not so low tech any more :)
