hi all iv got a fluval e series 300w heater and its flashing LF (low flow) the only thing iv changed is the bubbles. Should i get a wavemaker or powerhead (would prefer wavemaker) to increase the flow or should i just leave it has fish seem happy?

What filter have you currently got? A powerhead or wavemaker wouldn't do any harm.

Its a Fluval 306 canister filter.
what the best Liters an hour for my tank. (wavemaker/powerhead)
Tank Volume: approx. 240 Litres
Tank Measurements: 120 x 40 x 55 cm

That filter should be ok for the tank. You've got a flow rate of about 4.5-5 times per hour so it really depends on what you want with regards to a powerhead. If you're going planted and are going to get loads more plants then you could get something with a flow of around 1500lph to give you 10x turnover for your tank which is generally accepted as ideal for a planted tank.

However if you're just doing it because of the little warning light on your heater I wouldn't worry. Maybe the bubble wall moving has messed some internal calibration on the heater and if you shut it off for 5 minutes (the heater) and put it back on it would recalibrate?

Powerhead wise you could look on ebay for a Hydor wavemaker. I've got an APS 2500lph one or you could go for the 2000lph one maybe. You'd have a turnover of about 13x which would be ok.

Hydor do a 900lph or 1600lph I think so if you can find them fairly cheaply on eBay you could do a lot worse. Here are some brand new ones but you may be able to get them cheaper if you hunt around or are happy to get a second hand one. (mine is)

Thank you very much for the advise, Ya gotta get more plants, rocks and slate. will probably get the 2500lph wavemaker, If i got two 2000/2500 would that be 2powerfull has was thinking one at bottom & top of tank. or if i get 2 would i have to have 2 at bout 1250 or closest to that?

I have Eheim ecco pro 300 and 250 classic joined into a spray bar with a 2800lph powerhead and its just right, the fish love swimming in the powerhead flow. I have the power head sat under the spray bar and the current flows along the top of the tank hits the end and flows back along the sand. its just enough to make my amazon swords gently sway. I have a 4ft 200L
