Lost My Nugget

I have, had, not sure anymore a golden nugget pleco. i have not seen him AT ALL for at least a month. the tank is heavily planted and my convicts are still nesting. should i pull it apart to find him or just let nature take its course.

worried about a possibly rotting fish poluting the tank

please advise

I didnt see one of my catfish for a month presumed dead so bought a replacement then he came out to see who the new comer was!! Don't give up hope he may still be alive just hiding have you tried keeping an eye out when the lights are off?

if you havent seen him for a month i would test for ammonia. if there is some present, there may be a decomposing pleco in there if its all clear, i would say hes hiding and you can relax

was the tank mature when you got him? was he in there long before you lost him?

they're not the hardiest of plecs and like to go in a mature tank, also they're notorious for not surviving transporting and dying not long after going into they're new homes if the answer to either of the above questions was no then maybe have a look for him

Miss Wiggle is right. Also is the Nugget small as when they are small they hide alot.
