Fish Crazy
As some of you may know, I had a bad nitrite spike about 2 weeks ago.
I did 80% water changes every other day with 50% water changes in between the 80% water changes. I had to do the water changes by hand because I don't have a syphon.
Anyways lastnight I noticed my glass catfish disappeared. I thought I probably scooped him up while I was doing a water change because I looked EVERYWHERE for him.
I finally found him wedged in a plastic plant all white and decaying.
Could this have caused a nitrite spike as well? Because I finally got my nitrite back down to 0 and yesterday I tested the water and it was at .5 My german blue ram was breathing rapidly, but I thought he was just stressed from the huge water change I did that day.
I woke up this morning and he was laying on the gravel dead.
My two favorite fish died in one week, and my birthday is in two days.
I feel so bad for my fish. I am doing everything I can to make their water perfect.
