Lost All My Fish To Fin Rot!

I recently lost all my fish i think it was fin rot that killed them off. Basically im looking at starting a new tank with dwarf cichlids. I have wased the tank, plants, stones, heater and gravel with tap water is there going to be any problems when i refill the tank ready for my new setup. I have bought a new filter as i dont think the one i was using could keep up. Basically any suggestions and anything to watch out for will help me thanks

cycle the tank, may be do a media transfare from one of the doners to help you along?
