Rocking a crabshell for a hat.
So two weeks ago, I was sent to Alabama for work; I was gone for a week. I come back and two of the mollies and four danios are dead and floating. All looked like they had extremely swollen bellies, but not pineconed. One molly in particular had half a baby stuck out from her. I looked and the male molly (who is still alive) had a slightly cloudy eye. Anyway, I took the remaining mollies and danios to a friend who offered up her empty hospital tank for me. So the rest are over there being medicated with Maracyn. She's offered to take them since she has mollies and danios as well.
I did a partial water change that night. And then tested the water the next morning. I had 7.6pH, 0 ammonia, and 0 nitrite. I think my problem must have been bacterial. The remaining inhabitants of platies, fry, and bristlenose have all been great and are not showing any signs of problem.
Anyone have any insight to what happened? Any suggestions on what I should do before I add more fish? Or how long I should wait? It's been a week now.
Thanks
