Lophiobagrus Brevispinis Breeding Tank.

I finally got a proper breeding tank setup for my L.brevispinis to breed in. I have 8 in a 30 gallon and a couple of them paired off in the past a spawned but never got any fry out of it. So I decided to take out one male and two female and place them in a breeding tank. Once they breed I will take the females out and take the male out once the fry become to much for him to keep them in the cave/PVC pipe. Here are some pics.

I did a water change today on the breeding tank and I thought I would check the male's pipe and sure enough 20 - 30 fry came pouring out. I put the fry in a 3 gallon for now, until I move the parents out of the bigger rearing tank. I plan to bulk the fry up a bit before moving them. I would say they are around 3 weeks old or so. I just started up my brine shrimp culture last night, so for the time being I'm feeding them finely crushed flakes. I plan on doing a daily water change.

just a side comment - looks like you've planted those java ferns in the substrate - this will cause them to die. They need to be attached to something above the substrate (wood, rock etc.).

The fry are doing well, they seem to be filling up on the BBS I have been squirting into the tank. I try to feed them early morning or at night as they are more active then. During the day they dig themselves under some moss ball and beach rock.
