Looks Like I Have Another Nutty Fish!

Rainbow cichlid, everything I have read up on them says they are peaceful, however Spongebob (I hate letting the kids name fish ) is the meanest fish I have known, he is making the Texas look like tetra (he is not in with the texas btw) he has only been here 24 hours (just) and has already claimed over half of the tank

spongebob lol. You need something to lean on him and quiet him down.

He can spend a week or so with my darling bailey the diadema, she is the worlds greatest fish for making naughty fish behave. A week with her and they never chase anything again

She is fantastic, she never causes any harm to other fish (well not for me anyway) its just her shear presence, something about the look in her eye as she slowly stalks the naughty fish round the tank.

I was planning on stocking a couple of these with a rotkeil and a group of cupids in my 240l. Maybe I should rethink!

I wouldnt worry too much Andy, I know other people with rainbows and they are a perfectly lovely cichlid. He is the biggest in the tank at the moment so getting away with it. I very much doubt he will act the same if he was in with slightly larger cichlids like my rotkeil. Plus its just the way for me, if the fish is mad it ends up here, I have a common plec that thinks its a dog and likes its belly tickled
