I already have a tiny little Calico BN Pleco but he/she doesn't seem at all interested in algae. On that front i am looking for a fish that will feed on my algae. The last time i had a tropical tank (10-12 years ago), we had a loach that kept everything clean (not to mention being the alpha fish in the tank. He kept everything running nicely).

The problem is i have no idea what sort of loach he was. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

The tank is a 125l Fluval Roma so the loach can not be one that grows much over 3". Already in the tank are:

11 Neons Tetra
5 Blood fin Tetra
1 Dwarf Gourami
1 Pleco

i find the best way is use an algae cleaning magnet...

Even if you do get an aglae eating loach, they won't do it forever (usually just when they are young)

Depending on how mature the tank is a little group of otos might work...

I had algae growing on the back of my tank which i couldn't reach very well, although i could clean the front etc with a magnet.

So i got 3 otos, who's done a cracking job with the algae, but they usually do better with mature tanks :)
