Hi all =]

I currently have 4 tanks - a 30gal, an Aqua(something), & 2 FishRFun 1.5gals for my 2 betta boys. At the moment my Aqua has 3 female bettas, 3 platys, 1 molly & 2 corys. Until this morning, I also had 3 male swordtails in there, but I moved them to my 30gal this morning because one of them didnt seem very happy and the other 2 had taken to chasing the platys around.

My 30gal is not stocked very well. Before you all shout at me :)shout:) lol, let me explain.
I have 6 baby angels in there. I know that that is way too many to have in a 30gal but my original plan was to wait until they paired up & then just keep the one pair.
There are also the 3 male swordies in there, and 4 baby BNs (very cute!) which aren't a problem, however there are 2 other plecs, 1 albino gibby-looking plec and 1 that I think is a common. When I bought these they were very small, and I believed them to be BNs as the LFS told me.
Now they have grown alot bigger obviously, & I cant find anyone who will give them a home, & I am not taking them back to the LFS lol.

Ok, so the problem is, Im not happy with how the tanks look, & if Im going to make changes to them, I want it to be for the last time. If everything goes to plan, I will updating the 30gal to a Juwel 180 within the next couple of days. If this is not the case then I will keep my 30gal, as there are no problems with it anyway! =]

The first thing I want to do is plant the 30gal and the Aqua. I am going to order lots of plants off of Greenline & plant up both of the tanks, but as for stocking, that's where Im confused. I have become very attatched to all of my fish, especially the angels, but I think that if I can find homes for them where they are guaranteed to me looked after, then I may sell them. Do you think that this is the right thing to do for them, considering that they will outgrow their tank? Or am I just being selfish?
The reason for this is because even when (if) I upgrade to a bigger tank, I dont think there will be enough room for all 6 of them. Or will there?

*Oh, I also forgot to mention that I have a small shoal of scissortail rasboras in the 30gal. The LFS said they will get 3" max. but I read up to 7"?? Which one is correct? If they do get up to 7" then I am going to have to rehome them too! :(

If I do rehome all of the fish that I said, then that will leave the 30gal with 4 BNs & 3 swordies. If that is the case, I think I will plant it all and then move the 3 platys, 2 corys, molly & 3 betta girls over to the 30gal too. What do you think of this?
That will leave my Aqua tank (see below) empty.

Does this seem like a good idea? I want to change these tanks around for the last time. I have tried cichlids & now angels in the 30gal, and might just go with a small community now. Im not sure what I would put in the Aqua though?

Do you guys think it is for the best that I rehome the angels and the other fish to a better home? Or am I just being evil? :(

Sorry this has been such a long post, but I just feel at such a dead end with these tanks.

Thanks for reading; sorry if you fell asleep!

Probably best to rehome some of the angels, maybe just 2? Annnd im not sure what else you wanted to know, seemed like a really long way of asking a few questions :p It is important to choose how you like your tanks and leave them for a while, its unfair on the fish to stress them out with constant changes :) Hope you find a style that suits you and your fish!

Yeah I know what you mean about it being a really long post for just a few questions but I want to make it sound like I was being selfish and had just got 'bored' of the fish if you know what I mean, coz thats not the case =]

My tanks have been like this for a couple of months, I dont change them around constantly or anything, but I keep taking advice from my LFS (which I am not going to do anymore) and have ended up with fish that I can't house without knowing at first!

Thanks for replying :)

Lol, well atleast your learning :) Thats key, you've done nothing really wrong, just have a few changes to make :) Good Luck!

Looks like we have the same taste in planted aquariums!!!!

You plant your like mine, do you actually see your fish? :eek:sama:

bear in mind that your BNs will display male to male aggression as they mature, so if you have more than one male in your group, you might have to rehome the spare males too, or pop them in other tanks.

Ok, well the 4 that I have are babies so they havent been sexed yet, if there are 2 males I will move one to the Aqua.

In your opinions everyone do you think it will be best for the angels if I rehome them?
And how big do scissortail rasboras grow?

Thanks =]
