I am getting sick of cleaning dead leaves out of my plant tank...I am also sick of plants I have getting those thin root like things that dangle off the stems etc. I don't like the look of it in my tank....

What I am looking for is plants like val etc., that don't fragment and don't have the ugly looking hairy roots growing everywhwere.....

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am after a "neat" tank....if you know what I mean....

I have 3.2wpg light, I am using a DIY CO2 system and I fertilise weekly.

Any ideas would be muchly appreciated

I was exactly the same of you... I had ludwigia and hygro - leaves on the gravel dying, leaves floating on top after every water change, messy white roots hanging down, constant pruning....

I have a lot of vallis as it's one of my favorites. Swords will like your lighting coniditions and look neat, also cabomba - under high light - looks realy nice but again it will grow rather fast. Java fern is again a thick space filler and is pretty easy and looks neat.

Swords will do just fine in your tank, in fact they will probably grow like crazy. Many Crypts also have that "neat" look to them and with the light you have they should do OK under the shade of the sword.
