hey,
getting a 50 gallon soon heres my stocking plans

6+ glass catfish
6+ boesmani rainbowfish
pair of german blue ram cichlids
butterfly fish
bristlenose pleco
moolight gourami
Ottos ( maybe corys too if i have room, i love em)
amano shrimp

anyway i have been readin the bristlenose pleco would be an ideal choice for a community pleco, however, i am not crazy about how they look. I really want a pleco though for my 50 gallon (US by the way) but obviously it must be peaceful. Are there any other plecos anyone would suggest for my plans? I would really appreciate any advice!

if you not so keen on the common bristlenose, maybe have a look at a different bristly
I just realized that the femal doesnt have the bristles on her nose. i am correct in this assumption right? i dont really mind them i just like the way the females look without them...form what ive read though they are a great peaceful pleco...any help? :)

Yes, females are pretty well without bristles. Very nice plec this IMO and not difficult to keep. Mine do a good job on the algae and also eat algae wafers and various vegetables (courgette, peas, spinach, sprouts etc- whatever we're having ourselves really). They like having a place to hide, though I don't find mine very reclusive at all, and they do like having a bit of bogwood to graze on.

Awesome, i think my decision is final, i am getting a bristlesnose pleco once my tank has cycled!! how would you reccomend feeding vegetables (boiled or frozen? 2 -3 times a week?) thanks so much for your help!

Hello again! :)
I tend to feed mine cucumber and courgette about once or twice a week. Most of the time mine eat algae wafers but they do like bloodworm every now and again!

where abouts in the UK are you (I assume UK)

Just wondering as I smell a possible sale - we have some more Starlight bristlenose fry for sale again... :D
