Has anyone seen this product for sale in the uk?

A while ago I had a major tank failure where the tank which has been established for over 3 years decided to go into a full cycle...Not really sure why and may have been just a stupid error like not declorinating or something equally stupid.

I managed to get hold of a small qty of bactinet from a LFS friend and within 3 days the 240LT tank was showing 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia and 10 nitrates! That was several months ago and the tank has remained stable ever since.

I have tryed everywhere (so as the LFS friend) to get some more of this stuff but as yet no luck...so can anyone help?

There are also other similar products that work, I think Seachem have produced a good bacteria culture for fast cycling. I know people are not so sure of all these type of products (like Stresszyme) although I use that one.

Seachem one seems good, I saw it advertised in a Magazine, but cant remeber the product name. Maybe check on the web.

Thanks for the reply Sanj but I really want this product. I use the stresszyme for new tanks that can wait till the cycling has finished but the bactinet managed to cycle the whole tank within 3 days and put back all the fish with no spikes and no harmful effects to the fish.

If I hadn't witnessed this product working with my own eyes I would never of believed it!

There was a lot of trouble with supply of bactinet from their end of the chain so most of the shops that had agreed to stock it soon withdrew their orders after they had been let down on supply several times.
A good squeeze from a well established filter sponge will do exactly the same job but without the cost.

Thanks for the lead dolly I will give them a try:D

Your right CFC but i had just set up about 10 new tanks before this disaster and already sqeezed all my filters for those that week...didn't want to push my luck :( Having some of this stuff "just in case" would make me feel better.

I work at Betta Aquatics (clacton, essex) and the other shop in elmstead market used to use it but the machine was very un realible and required a lot of cleaning to make sure it didn't clog.

Ok, but just incase you want to check this other product here is a link.

Seachem 'Stability'

Sedgely Road Aquarium near Dudley has Bactinet - I used it a few months ago after a suspected filter problem caused a massive algae bloom overnight, I'm not sure if that's what made the difference but the tank was clear within a few hours of putting it in.
