I'd like a green, bushy plant for my tank, but I'm not sure exactly which one. I've heard that you can encourage some of the rotala species to grow into a ball, but I don't really know which of those are green and which are red. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, as well as pictures if you have any.

I run very high light, pressurized CO2 at 30ppm, and EI, so preferably something that fits with those specs. I have red bunched in the middle of my tank (a red tiger lotus and some lugwigia glandulosa), so I'm looking for this green, bushy plant to take up a corner and give a nice contrast. Something maybe light green would be the best.

Thanks!

I put some Tropica rotala sp. nanjenshan in my tank just under 2 weeks ago. I split the single pot into 4 clusters of stems, and I am very surprised to see how many new side shoots have grown from the base of all clusters. They are growing really well (I started EI just before the rotala went in) and look to become very bushy and thick as they grow. They're quite a small leaved plant, and I am very happy with them.

Micranthemum umbrosum would be perfect for what you want. It is pale, yellowish green, has small leaves that give it a bushy look and it is very easy to grow.

Dave.
