You could even see the holes in the fish where the needle had gone in. The shop was OATA approved although wasn't very new. I didn't say anything at the time, but I can only assume that the shop keepers don't know they are dyed. They were being sold as jade tiger barbs, they look nothing like jade/green tigers, they look like poor albinos.
I saw these today also, blatently dyed, not one fish had the same green markings and they were clearly fading - it looked so artificial Shouldnt be OATA approved IMO
well, its also possible that the fish shop is just uneducated and simply thought they were ordering regular green tiger barbs (which are not dyed, just a color variation). its also possible they are like certain chain pet stores that shall remain un named who sell whatever and don't care because its all about profit
