Look What I Caught

I caught a luna moth caterpillar on my way to the bank awhile back. Here it is:

I did a little research to find out what to feed it, etc, and I successfully raised it into a luna moth. Here it is the day that it emerged from its cocoon:

Of course, I let it go after taking a few pictures.

what a gorgeous creature, it must have been great watching it fly off, when you let it go.

Wow that is cool. I found what I thought was a cacoon and did reasearch and kept it and one day I came in and it was open and there was a praying mantice (little tiny) on it. I don't know if it got in the house and messed it up or if it cam out. I just threw it in the yard to catch bugs.
