look at my possible new cam!!

Nice camera, I like the fast lense and metal body. Its quite a bit of money for such a camera though, there are many 10x optical zoom cameras around that are excellent value and unless you plan on printing above A4 size, 3-4 megapixels is just fine, I get great A4 prints from my S5000z. Personally I would go for a more powerful optical zoom over another 1 or 2 megapixels.

You could check out the Minolta Z2 or the fuji S5000z, the Minolta Z1 is going for rock bottom prices now too.

Fuji S5000z

Both are cheaper new than the second hand camera and have 10x optical zoom lenses.

I have used both those cameras that Cian posted and they are both excellent!

I find Fuji are sometimes over priced though for what they are but you always know you are getting the best lense available on a commercial digital camera.

Minolta make solid cameras and very high quality, I don't think you'd be dissapointed in it as it is packed with features and is highly capable for under £200.

so am i best not going for that camera and what camera do you reccommend out of them 2 cams? thanks chris.

I would go for new, just for the piece of mind and backup. Lenses are easily scratched you know! :grr: Im sure the camera is fine but I wouldnt buy a second hand camera without using it and inspecting it first.

I have the S5000z and I really like it, if you ever take a more serious interest all the options are there for creativity. Despite the price the lense is superb for a 10x

I havent used the Z1 so I cant comment on it!
