i have a heavily pregnant guppy but she dont seem to wanna give birth yet?! can they hold onto the fry for any amount of time or does it not work like that?!

Constipated. Fish can have problems with digestion and are unable to poop. Peas help with pooping. Microwave some, remove the shells, smoosh up the peas, and feed.

not bloated. this one can crap for the england team. shes got a big dark gravid spot so i'm sure shes knocked up. i'll post a pic

the thing with guppies is that they are one of the quickest livebearers do drop their fry and drop every 3.5 - 4 weeks this is why so many people are attraced to them and basically you just leave them too it.
the problem is, the LEAVE THEM TOO IT thing, the more you watch them and will them to drop the longer it will seem and this might be a reason for why it seems so long.
A gravid spot does not mean that they are pregnant, its actually another way of sexing the fish, the gravid gets bigger and darker near the middle and end of gestation.
you will know when shes about to drop, she'll slow right down and might go off her food and even go into hiding, most gup give birth in dark well planted areas and in the twilight hours or over night, just give her time. turn the temp of the tank up slightly and keep the lights off this should settle her down to drop fry. the thing about bloated is, to be honest if there is a male in the tank then its more than 99% chance that she is pregnant that is if shes is fertile to begin with .good luck both of you
