My albino bristlenose seems to be getting quite long fins. He's a few months old and still growing a bit. Is there such a thing as a long-finned bristlenose? Or maybe he's just hit the gangly teenager stage!
There are indeed. They are created using selective breeding.
You might just have a naturally longer finned fish... or a full blown longfin - Get some pics up
Long finned have extremely long fins, and I think they have them right from the beginning.
Poor things cant swim well and look awful too (no offense to those with them - obviously they do have lots of fans or else no-one would have them - just I personally think they're hideous lol).
Thanks for the pics LisaLQ, that last one defo looks like it's not from this world! My albino BN (he's called Spook) doesn't look like that, thank goodness. It's just that his front fins over-lap the back ones when he spreads them out. I don't think the long-finned ones look that nice, and it's a shame that they can't swim very well. Spook can really move when he wants to, like when I'm trying to take a picture of him!
