Took myself home via Mill Hill Maidenhead Aquatics this afternoon. This place used to be really good, but in the 4-5 years since I was last there, it seems to have declined somewhat. Seemed rather drab compared to the flagship stores in this chain, and there were definitely fewer tanks than before. I hope it's due for renovation some time soon...
There were a few highlights though, including a tankful of red scats, Scatophagus argus atromaculatus. Pretty big specimens too, around about 10 cm in length. This variety of scat isn't all that common, so I thought a heads-up was in order for those looking for this type of thing.
They also had a few archers, bumblebees, and wild-type orange chromides, but not much else. Though not really brackish water fish, some really large peacock spiny eels, Macrognathus siamensis, caught my eye.
Cheers,
Neale
