I went to London on Wednesday and I was really excited about going to the London Aquarium.
It was quite expensive to get in, but I thought it'd be worth it. So we started walking around and it was coldwater ponds to begin with. Nothing truly exciting. There were some quite large koi kept in a small tank, though.
Then it was marines. God, this bit went on forever. About 2/3 of the whole attraction was marines. I know diddly squit about marines, so I couldn't find any problems. There were some really nice displays. There were some plastic jellyfish in a round tank and this couple were staring at them, thinking they were real which was really funny.
Then came the tropicals. I was so disappointed with this. They had a shrimp tank with "ghost shrimp" and "bee shrimp", apparently. All I saw were amano shrimp and cherry shrimp. Then there were some dwarf puffers in a community tank, and the tankmates looked really scrappy.
Then there was a huuuge tank with 5 redtail catfish, a huuuge shoal of silver dollars, a few bala sharks, some clownloaches, and a silver aro. It was a very large tank, but only because it was so tall. The foot print was tiny, one of the RTC had to go on a slant to get on the floor. Also, the aro was very weird shaped.... very deep bodied but not very long, with bulging eyes.
Then there was a brackish section, with a large tank with anableeps and mollies and mudskippers in. Some twits were poking the mudskippers thinking it was hilarious to poke them into holes on a rock.
Then there was a mangrove with scats, monos, archers and... green terrors?! Never knew they were brackish.
Alot of tanks also had fish that weren't labelled, or labels with no fish. So in all, a rather disappointing attraction
