You're young. As you go through your teens you develop an instinct for things being wrong, even if society seems to be saying it's ok.
When I was maybe 21, I had an opportunity to swim with dolphins. Peers were doing it and were encouraging me to. I couldnt articulate why but it didn't feel ethical. I was a little tempted, I love dolphins and swimming, but the interaction would be fake and cruel - I could have a photo of a dolphin kissing me but I'd know it couldn't swim away because the ocean was netted off, and that it was performing in order to get fed. Far from the immense awe of meeting them in the wild, I would just feel sadness, even grief.
Whales are big, intelligent and social - They deserve an ocean, a family/ pod and a full life. They can live for 80 years.
