you just add 5 drops shake wait 5 mins ..... easy .. that what it says card / info

no one said if purple hit th bottom then ur so far off scale donot bother

so your off scale result with a good shake turn into a nice little purple colour

Yes that's correct, if the drops immediately sink to the bottom and go purple then the reading is off the scale even if after 5 mins the solution has gone back to blue.

Here's a good way to find out your actual level, firstly test your tap water to ensure that doesn't contain any nitrites. If that's ok then mix 1ml of tank water with 4ml of tap water then test that. By doing this you are basically diluting your tank water and nitrite to 20% so if that test then gives a result of say 2ppm then your actual level is 5 times higher than that at 10ppm
