My bettas tail fin lookes like its got a little cowlick on it. You know ow some people hairs have a spot where its kinda curly. is this ok?

I thought that was from poor water conditions?

I've heard it can be caused by bad water conditions, and sometimes age... what are your water stats?
How big is the tank?
How often do you do water changes?

I have a 3 year old betta that has curly fins, I have noticed if he doesn't get a little morning sun they curl more. I don't know if it is vitamin D or something else that is making them less curly. I am a fanatic when it comes to changing water I know that it is because he is just a little old man.

i've also heard it can be genetic (unless of course it's all of the sudden).

well hes ok now. When i took him out of his bag he came in it was all curly but today its straight as an arrow. Thank you everyone.
